Mexican Coffee Cup and Saucer Painting

My grandmother didn't travel. She never left the southern U. S. But her clients did. She was a beautitian and they brought her little gifts from their travels. This cup and saucer are from Mexico. They are decorated in colored slips and stains on red earthenware with a clear glaze. I love the color of the clay. I painted it in oils on 6"x6" gessoed mdf. Painting is SOLD.

Painting of the Old Chevy

Painting of the car my family owned in the 60's. We called her "Gertrude". From an old black and white picture. She was actually white, but I took artistic license. 2006. Sold.

Silver Tea Infusor

This is one of my very favorite paintings. The subject is a silver tea infusor that I bought at an antique shop. This was an 8" x 10" oil on canvas panel, 2006. It is sold, but I wanted to include it here.

Painting the Monkey

The subject of my painting today is my stuffed monkey that I have had for 46 years (since I was 2). He is stuffed with excelsior (not the cuddliest stuff) and has moveable joints. He has aged well...and has definitely developed character.
